Anyway, I hope you are all fine. We are doing great. Me and Jim and the kids are going to Disneyworld this month. Road Trip!! We will stop and check out places like Savannah and Charleston along the way. I have never seen much south of Moyack, really. We are staying at the All Star Music Resort and will take tons of pictures. I miss you so much and love you.

Virtual Living
OK, there is a new computer game out there called Second Life. Apparently, you can interact with people, buy and sell land with real money, get jobs, etc... Huh? As if actual life isn't hard enough at times. I can't imagine sitting on the computer for hours and hours "playing" and managing a parallel virtual life. You have got to check it out. I can't wrap my head around that at all.

zoe update on governor's school
Zoe turned down governor's school to pursue her studies to become a doctor. Being accepted was an honor for her.
We are so proud of her! She made a very difficult, mature and well thought -out decision.
She will be in Chamber Singers, Falcon Jazz and District Chorus at Cox. She'll be singing her heart out. Yay! ( i am her biggest fan!)
will keep you posted on her.

Surgery ordeal
Hello all,
As Stefanie mentioned in her blog, I had gallbladder surgery. I saw my surgeon afterward while in recovery and he said I did great. I said,"So did you!" I was so glad that he was able to keep it a laparoscopic procedure and not have to open me from "stem to stern" like Aunt Chrise.
(I spoke with her during my recovery, she was home recovering from sinus surgery, ouch!)
I did have an intestinal infection in the week following the procedure and am better from that now.
I went back to work just short of two weeks later. I was going stir crazy and felt great. I was just trying to get my digestion working again. I honestly thought I'd be fine going back to work full time. Apparently, I was carrying myself differently or something because by the fourth day back to work, my back started nagging a bit.
By the fifth, it was really trying to do more than nag. It was screeching. Stef was asking if I wanted to go home. Me? What's a little pain, right?
What an idiot! I was in agony, I didn't want to admit it.
The next day, the pain started to shoot down my leg from my butt to the top of my foot.(and still is) Holy Crap, it is intense.
I went to the doctor (twice) who then sent me to an orthopedic surgeon who sent me for an MRI and ...
Voila! I herniated a disc which will eventually need to be corrected surgically. I probably had it brewing for a while. It will all work out though.
By the way, the kids both got honor roll. Jimmy will be in 8th and Zoe will be in 10th grade. They are enjoying their summer so far. I really need to put pictures on here.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I love you all.

Boy, am I behind the times! I can't believe that so many people, including my family has begun blogging.
Recently,I have been wondering what exactly a blog is. Though computer literate, I thought it strange for anyone to just speak out randomly like a sort of public diary.
My sister, Stefanie, mentioned she started one and that it was a great way to write your views and to communicate with family and friends.
Why not get it out there? Vent...get it off your shoulders. Share your life, your concern and love through cyberspace. She suggested we (our family) all do it . I am onboard....
Well, I must say, a whole new world is opened up to me. I love writing and sharing my thoughts, views and happenings within the lives of the Family Craig.
I hope you all will check back and see what we are all up to and maybe read a random thought or rant by me.
I love you and miss you all. I really miss having a big Greek Easter with you all very much. It was great spending time with mom, my kids' Yia Yia and Papou! They are awesome! And so are you!
I still need to figure out how to post pictures, but I will soon.
Love you all

thanks, but no thanks
you never get used to hearing the insults, the criticisms, the unsolicited advice from strangers, neighbors, even some friends and family when you have a child with a developmental disability whom harbors emotional challenges and exhibits some behavioral difficulties. they say,"send him to our house for a week, we'll straighten him out.
alright, as far as i am concerned, we all have some form of quirk... or so called "disability."
would it be fair for me to say,"come to my house for a week, i'll fix your a.d.d., your o.c.d. or your generalized anxiety disorder?
yeah, i will get you to quit drinking and chain smoking. come to my house for a week and you'll no longer be a procrastinator, an over eater, a neat freak or a slob.....
i will tell you that if you come to our house for a week, you won't be judged, ridiculed or criticized.
you will be accepted for who and what you are despite your "disability
you too,
will be loved unconditionally....

No Shredded Memories
As I sit at my computer, I watch the cursor blink, blink, blink...as if to say, "Well, come on, write something already!" I wonder what to write for my first blog entry.
I am listening to my husband sorting through mail. He bought a new shredder."Whirrrr! Whirrrr! Whirrr!
He brings me assorted items like my daughter's acceptance letter from the Governor's School for the Arts and says,"Do you want this?"
"Yes, I am saving it." I reply, still while thinking of what I want to write."Whirrr! Whirrr!
Here he comes again..
"Do you want to save Zoe's program when she was in Cox Idol?"
"Yes, I save all of that stuff, shreddable or not...."
The catipult Jimmy made in shop class, the clay dragon mask he made in art, every report card, honor roll certificate, Zoe's choral programs from the past 8 years of concerts, art projects, and original poems, etc.
I will continue saving these school memories for them as long as I can. I am so proud of their accomplishments as they should be. They are such great kids. We are lucky parents. "Whirrr! Whirrr!"
"Honey? Just shred the bills....."
